The Torrington Raiders were the 50-43 winner over the Seymour Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Torrington took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seymour.
Torrington lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Haley Burger, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Lilah Boulli, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Leading Seymour to victory were Jillian Keough and Skylar Barton. Keough scored 13 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds, while Barton scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Mia Cunningham was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Torrington's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Torrington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wilby at 7:00 p.m. As for Seymour, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Paul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Paul Catholic will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
