It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Westside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They escaped with a win against the Buffalo Island Central Mustangs by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Koby Thompson had an outrageously good game as he went 9-for-20 to rack up 20 points along with eight boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Micah Dew, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Westside's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Buffalo Island Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Westside has already played their next matchup, a 70-61 victory against Searcy on the 15th. As for Buffalo Island Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
