Kevin Boyle's first season at
Montverde Academy (Fla.) is shaping up to be a major success.
As expected, the former St. Patrick coach has attracted several talented prospects to the Orlando-area school and already has a major tournament title under his belt, winning the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament after Christmas.

But Saturday will go down as a forgettable moment in Montverde Academy's building process under Boyle. The Eagles suffered a shocking 60-52 loss to Hagerty (Oviedo) at the Showdown in O-Town.
Hagerty is a Top 50 team in Florida
according to the Freeman Rankings and entered the contest with a very respectable mark of 9-3, but six-loss DeLand beat the Huskies by 19 in early December. Hagerty isn't the type of school expected to upset a national academy power.
"They're better than us, but we were better than them for two hours in a cracker box on a Saturday night," Hagerty coach Josh Kohn told the Orlando Sentinel. "That's high school basketball at its best."
Montverde falls from No. 6 to No. 8 in this week's Academy Top 10 presented by the Army National Guard. Read on for a complete look at this week's rankings.
