After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Dothan (Ala.) held on for a 27-14 victory over
Carroll (Ozark, Ala.) on Saturday. The difference for the Tigers was it threw a touchdown.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run, the Eagles went into halftime with a 14-13 lead. The Tigers scored the winning points with a passing touchdown that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Dothan still trailed by 1 point going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped DHS pull out the victory.
The Tigers' most effective player was
Adrian Kirkland. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown.
The loss comes after Carroll defeated Booker T. Washington 20-13 last week.
Carroll (3-3) goes up against Marbury in a 5A Region 2 game matchup next week, while Dothan (4-1) locks horns with Daphne in a 6A Region 2 game.
