Arlington is 8-2 against Snohomish since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Arlington has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Snohomish will come in with six straight victories.
On Wednesday, Arlington didn't have quite enough to beat Edmonds-Woodway and fell 2-1.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Snohomish). They never let Marysville-Pilchuck get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Brayden Holscher made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Landon Klein was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Hutchinson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Snohomish always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Snohomish's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Arlington suffered a grim 22-6 defeat to Snohomish when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
