J.I. Burton hadn't done well against Rye Cove recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Black Raiders blew past the Eagles 8-2. The Black Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 12-1).

J.I. Burton pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rye Cove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.
