Baseball Recap: Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal Titans 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Gators as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak.

Taylor Davy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten contests.

In other batting news, Payton Gust was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-16. As for Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Badger/Greenbush-Middle River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal, they will head out to take on Mahnomen/Waubun at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
