Stearns's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Piscataquis Pirates 18-9. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by nine runs or more this season.

Stearns' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Piscataquis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Stearns will square off against Bangor Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.83 runs per game on average), something the Minutemen will no doubt try to take advantage of. Piscataquis will be paying especially close attention to Stearns' game: after Stearns faces off against Bangor Christian, they'll take on Piscataquis again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
