The biggest upset of the week belonged to Eldorado, who defeated 365th ranked Carmi-White County, 18-0.
Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to sixth in Black Diamond. The Bearcats defeated Elverado/Trico 49-6 earlier in the week.
Fairfield's dynamic duo of Joseph Rodgers and Anthony Thomas proved tough for Hamilton County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rodgers threw for 42 yards and 25 touchdowns and Thomas had 25 yards receiving.
The Mules' dynamic duo of Rodgers and Thomas proved to be unstoppable against the Foxes, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Joel Clendenin provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Chester bested Vienna/Goreville. Clendenin's key target this week was Caleb Golding, who caught 2 passes for 27 yards.
Rodgers put up the best numbers through the air as Fairfield bested Hamilton County.
Thomas was the best receiver in the league this week as Justin Townsend's team bested Jeff Rush's team.
Clendenin was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 157 yards on 23 carries as the Yellowjackets topped the Foxes. Teammate Brad Asselmeier added to the ground attack by rushing for 116 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Rodgers of Fairfield is the league leader in passing yards this season with 117. He has also thrown 27 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Asselmeier. The Chester star has 2 catches for 83 yards.
An important game coming up in Black Diamond this week will be when Sesser-Valier/Waltonville/Woodlawn takes on Chester. As it stands, the Red Devils are in fifth, while Bryan Lee's team is in third.
The Eagles scaled the state rankings by moving to 350 from 454 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Eldorado climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Bulldogs 18-0.
