On Saturday, Mount Notre Dame faced the Mason Comets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mount Notre Dame fell 55-46 to Mason. Mount Notre Dame's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Mount Notre Dame players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laila Harrison, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Bransford, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Madison Parrish, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Mason. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parrish has scored all season. Anna Habra was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Mount Notre Dame's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Mason, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Mount Notre Dame's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ursuline Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Ursuline Academy is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Mason will take on Colerain at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Colerain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 560th, while Mason is ranked sixth).
