Lake Gibson (Lakeland, Fla.) put up eight points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 35-7 victory over
Ridge (Davenport, Fla.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Thomas Boles in the first quarter, the Braves led 27-7 at the half.
Ridge's lone touchdown came on a 45-yard pass in the first quarter.
Lake Gibson came into the game allowing 14.1 points per game. The Bolts came in allowing just 15.2 points per game this season. Ridge had a hard time against Lake Gibson's offense, which entered the game scoring 39.3 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 26-0 win for the Lakeland school.
The loss comes after Ridge defeated Bartow 35-6 last week.
Next week, the Braves (7-2) will take on South Fort Myers in a playoff game. The Wolfpack enter the tilt sporting a 7-2 record for the season.
