The Leopold Wildcats's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eagle Ridge Christian 63-31 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Leopold also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Eagle Ridge Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Simpson, who scored 14 points along with three blocks. The match was Simpson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chase WIlliams, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Eagle Ridge Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leopold is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Eagle Ridge Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Leopold will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gideon at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Gideon is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Eagle Ridge Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Southland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 550th, while Eagle Ridge Christian is ranked 223rd).
