The Lake Blue Streaks will head out on the road to take on the Louisville Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to McKinley on the road by a decisive 80-61 margin. Lake has not had much luck with McKinley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Louisville stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Boardman 80-51 at home. Given Louisville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Boardman is ranked 459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brayden Gross continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Nigro, who scored 19 points.
Lake's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Louisville, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Lake and Louisville were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Lake came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
