Overton is a perfect 10-0 against Kingsbury since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Overton took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against KIPP Collegiate as they made off with a 14-5 win. Considering the Wolverines have won ten matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jeremiah Haynes and Sammy Kehrli were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Haynes struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Kehrli tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Haynes a new career-high. At the plate, Haynes went a perfect 2-for-2 with six stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Kehrli got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run. Haynes has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Kingsbury never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Memphis East on Friday. They blew past the Mustangs 19-9. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.
Kingsbury let Christopher Woodruff and Deyber Lovera Marin run wild. Woodruff got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Lovera Marin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Kingsbury is 3-1-1 when Lovera Marin posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Harris, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Overton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Kingsbury, their win bumped their record up to 7-10-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Overton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. However, it's not like Kingsbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Overton's way against Kingsbury when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Overton made off with a 15-4 victory. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
