The Holdenville Wolverines had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-53 victory over Stroud. Given Holdenville's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Stroud is ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Holdenville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryleigh Hill, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cylee Null, who scored 15 points.
Holdenville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Stroud, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.
Holdenville will be playing in front of their home fans against Henryetta at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stroud does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
