The Clymer Central Pirates came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 36-31 victory over Maple Grove. That's another feather in the cap for Clymer Central, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Alexys Neckers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clymer Central's points. Ava Nyweide was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Clymer Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Maple Grove, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Westfield the next time they take the court. Clymer Central will host the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Red Dragons will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
