The Fisher Catholic Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 33 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 72-39 victory over Wellington School on the road. For Fisher Catholic, this counts as revenge for the 45-18 defeat Wellington School walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2016.
Leading Fisher Catholic to victory were Voni Bethel and Ellie Bruce. Bethel scored 23 points, while Bruce dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Jayda Dixon was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists.
Fisher Catholic's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Wellington School, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Fisher Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Fairfield Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 517th, while Fisher Catholic is ranked 156th). As for Wellington School, they will be playing at home against Berne Union at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Berne Union comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
