After flying high against the Clinton Christian Couriers last Thursday, the Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars came back down to earth. Lakeland Christian Academy was outmatched by Churubusco on the road and fell 56-20. Lakeland Christian Academy has struggled against Churubusco recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Churubusco can attribute much of their success to Bridget Timbrook, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Eby, who scored 14 points.
Lakeland Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Churubusco, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian Academy will take on Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Churubusco, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Adams Central at 7:30 p.m.
