Mt. Carmel moved up to 165 from 217 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. The Aces climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Columbia 57-22.
Lake Forest Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,332 from 6,101.
Mater Dei's dynamic duo of Mike Martz and Logan Gerstner proved tough for East Richland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Martz threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns and Gerstner had 112 yards receiving. Jordan Ratermann helped Mater Dei's passing attack out by catching two balls for 57 yards.
Sam Wampler was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 44 yards as Mt. Carmel lost to the Tigers.
Reece Metcalf provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Darren Peach's team fell to the Eagles. He completed 16 passes for 216 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 10 yards. Metcalf's favorite target this week was Jared Piper, who caught four passes for 95 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Metcalf of the Aces is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2466. He has also thrown 22 touchdowns. On the ground, East Alton-Wood River's Aaron Ragusa has rushed for 832 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kyle Kearby. The East Alton-Wood River star has 45 catches for 1125 yards.
