Given Sun Prairie West's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Janesville Parker is ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chris Davis Jr was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points along with four steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Sun Prairie West's points. Tyler Haney was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Madison La Follette's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 85-68 bruising from Madison East. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (61), Madison La Follette still had to take the loss.
Sun Prairie West pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Madison La Follette, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for Sun Prairie West against Madison La Follette when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 86-51 win. Will Sun Prairie West repeat their success, or does Madison La Follette have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
