The Simpson Academy Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Wayne Academy Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Simpson Academy, who comes in off a win.
Simpson Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Magee as they made off with a 13-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.

Hayes Algee made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Warren, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Brayden Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Simpson Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Magee struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Wayne Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Enterprise.
Like Simpson Academy, Wayne Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Casten Walley. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Walley was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Walley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cohen Walley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another was Ian Smith, who earned two RBI and one stolen base.
Simpson Academy's record now sits at 2-0. As for Wayne Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Simpson Academy couldn't quite finish off Wayne Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
