Mountain Pointe had lost 11 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-17-1 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Desert Edge Scorpions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pride have posted since April 4, 2024.

Lauryn Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Samantha Graves, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilani Chavez, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
As for Desert Edge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 1st.
On Desert Edge's side, Aliyah Fatigoni (2027) put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Fatigoni (2027) was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Leila Taylor (2027) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Pointe will venture away from home to challenge Alhambra at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.35 runs per game on average), something the Pride will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Desert Edge, they are taking a road trip to take on Arizona College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
