Baseball Recap: Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against New Washington

Christian Academy hadn't beaten New Washington on the road since May 28, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 15-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Danny McDonald was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Adrien Bryson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for New Washington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-10 victory against West Washington on the 10th. As for New Washington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 win against Shawe Memorial on the 14th.
