After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Douglass, the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 55-51 W over Alto. This was payback for Mt. Enterprise, who suffered a 71-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading Mt. Enterprise to victory were Kaegan Ash and Jack Maples. Ash scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Maples scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Maples hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Bryce Durrett, who scored seven points.
Mt. Enterprise's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Alto, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Enterprise will square off against Gary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gary is on a four-game streak of home losses, Mt. Enterprise a 14-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. As for Alto, they will head out on the road to take on Cushing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Cushing is ranked 866th, while Alto is ranked 859th).
