Pen Argyl skirted past Salisbury Township 20-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Pen Argyl has posted yet this season.
Pen Argyl's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Mclaughlin led the charge by scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Martini, who scored nine points.
Catasauqua suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They suffered a rough 52-30 loss at the hands of Saucon Valley. Catasauqua was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.
Pen Argyl's victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12. As for Catasauqua, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Pen Argyl didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Catasauqua in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 35-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pen Argyl since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
