 New Hope  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  struck out at most five  strikeouts in seven consecutive  matchups.
New Hope picked up their first home  victory, bumping their record up to 3-6-1. As for Etowah, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 4-2.
 Coming up, New Hope will challenge Scottsboro at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Etowah, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Southside  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Etowah's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so Southside's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
