Sandpoint is 8-2 against Moscow since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Sandpoint Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Moscow Bears at 7:00 p.m. Sandpoint will be strutting in after a victory while Moscow will be coming in after a loss.
Sandpoint only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point they dealt Bonners Ferry on Wednesday. Sandpoint put the hurt on Bonners Ferry with a sharp 73-50 win. Given Sandpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Bonners Ferry is ranked 57th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Karlie Banks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brecken Mire, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Moscow was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 49-44 to Lewiston.
Sandpoint pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Moscow, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Everything came up roses for Sandpoint against Moscow in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 50-22 victory. Does Sandpoint have another victory up their sleeve, or will Moscow turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
