The Piedmont Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They wrapped up 2023 with a 77-59 victory over Harding University. The win was some much needed relief for Piedmont as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Miles Leaks was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fred Little, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Piedmont's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Harding University, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Piedmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Mill at 4:30 p.m. on December 30th. Hopefully Fort Mill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. Harding University won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hickory Grove Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th. Hickory Grove Christian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
