The Hunter Wolverines had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 49-43 W over Taylorsville on Friday. For Hunter, this counts as revenge for the 58-21 loss Taylorsville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Hunter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalysa Ng led the charge by scoring 17 points. Ng is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Grace Gallagher was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Taylorsville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Sterzer, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Sterzer hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aysha Salami, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Hunter's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Taylorsville, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Hunter will head out on the road to face off against Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylorsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kearns is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
