The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks will take on the Redwood Giants at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tamalpais is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Tamalpais took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Novato, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Tailed Hawks had just enough and edged out the Hornets 4-2. Surprisingly, this marked the Red Tailed Hawks' eighth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Eli Solem made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Kramlich, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Tamalpais was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Novato only posted a batting average of .208.
Meanwhile, Redwood entered their tilt with Terra Linda on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans a 14-0 shutout. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Redwood also got a great performance from Matthew Knauer as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Ethan Ferry was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kaelin Christman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Tamalpais' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Redwood, their record now sits at 11-6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tamalpais has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Redwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
