The Central Christian Crusaders can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past Harvester Christian Academy with a 76-71 victory. The victory was just what Central Christian needed coming off of a 72-52 defeat in their prior match.
Central Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seth Rivers, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocky Steidinger, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarrett Brown, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Greg Stoeckig, who scored 17 points.
Central Christian pushed their record up to 3-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Harvester Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Central Christian will head out on the road to take on Holy Ground Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Holy Ground Baptist Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Harvester Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Flint River Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Flint River Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
