The Brushton-Moira Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Colton-Pierrepont Colts at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Brushton-Moira was able to grind out a solid win over St. Lawrence Central, taking the game 43-32. The victory was just what Brushton-Moira needed coming off of a 64-27 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Colton-Pierrepont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 66-43 margin over St. Regis Falls. Considering Colton-Pierrepont has won three matches by more than 22 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Eric Friedel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for he. Nate Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Brushton-Moira pushed their record up to 3-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Colton-Pierrepont, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Brushton-Moira came up short against Colton-Pierrepont in their previous matchup back in February, falling 51-38. Thankfully for Brushton-Moira, Harlee Besio (who scored 14 points along with six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
