Baseball Game Preview: Booker Tornadoes vs. Southeast Seminoles

The Booker Tornadoes will face off against the Southeast Seminoles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Booker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Booker took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over Gibbs. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Joshua Azevedo was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Booker is undefeated when Azevedo posts two or more runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kevion Carey, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Booker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to Lakewood. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The win got Booker back to even at 9-9. As for Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Booker has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Booker came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeast in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 9-7. Will the Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Seminoles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
