Saguaro picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Simi Valley Pioneers 86-41. The Sabercats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.
Saguaro was led to victory by Javin Blacks and Justice Hinds. Blacks went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points, while Hinds went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points and five steals. Those 18 points gave Blacks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nas Hailey, who posted ten points and five rebounds.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Derek Maclean, who had six points. Maclean continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Trevor Hiscocks was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Saguaro and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Simi Valley, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Saguaro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 84-62 win against Murrieta Mesa on the 27th. As for Simi Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-61 defeat against Aliso Niguel on the 27th.
