Park Tudor and Covenant Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Panthers will welcome the Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Park Tudor comes in on four and Covenant Christian on five.
On Thursday, Park Tudor needed a bit of extra time to put away Greenwood Christian Academy. They won by a run and slipped past the Cougars 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 19, 2024.

The team relied heavily on MJ Gaines, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Desmond Francis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Covenant Christian got themselves on the board against Speedway on Wednesday, but Speedway never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sparkplugs, sneaking past 2-0. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The result came thanks to Nolan Guzman's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Blake Cope was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases. Eli Kegeris also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Covenant Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Speedway only posted a batting average of .130.
Park Tudor's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Covenant Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Saturday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Park Tudor has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Covenant Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Park Tudor took their win against Covenant Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
