Laurel put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the East Helena Vigilantes get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Locomotives also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.
Adrienne Roth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.
In other batting news, Emerson Gunther was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Mares, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Laurel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Helena only posted an OBP of .200.
Laurel's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for East Helena, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Coming up, Laurel will head out on the road to face off against Park at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Helena, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Hardin at 2:00 p.m.
