After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Park, Kennedy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Grant Pacers a 14-0 shutout. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Kaylena Ogle was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Kira Griffin was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Cyanah Cherry, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Kennedy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Kennedy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Grant, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16-1.
