Abington Friends will square off against the Perkiomen School Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Abington Friends got the win against George School by a conclusive 17-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Abington Friends.

Maddie Montroy made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gen Mueller, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Gabriela Puntel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Abington Friends kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Perkiomen School waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Cavaliers as they made off with an 11-1 victory.
Like Abington Friends, Perkiomen School also got a great game from a two-way player: Gabby Samy. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Samy was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cam McQuade was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Kovaleski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Abington Friends' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perkiomen School, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Perkiomen School's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Abington Friends has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game.
