It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Shallowater Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Slaton 52-0 on the road. Shallowater might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 21 points or more this season.
Shallowater was led to victory by Kouper Boyd and Clayton Vincent. Boyd rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, while Vincent rushed for 80 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries.
Shallowater is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Slaton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
Shallowater will face off against Clyde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Slaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
