Father Lopez (Daytona Beach, Fla.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Joe Boden ran for a touchdown with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
Maclay (Tallahassee, Fla.) 24-17.
After nabbing the lead on a touchdown run, the Marauders went into halftime with a 7-3 lead. The Green Wave took the lead for good with a Boden touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Father Lopez came in allowing an average of 28.9 points per game this season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Maclay, which notched a 40-12 victory over Wewahitchka in its previous outing. With the win FL extended its winning streak to three games.
