Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They never let the Youngker Roughriders get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Coyotes with their most commanding win of the season.
Riley Moncrieff made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Centennial got a massive performance out of Jordynn McClain, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs McClain has posted since back in April of 2024. Brooke Denton also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. Youngker's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will square off against Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Youngker, they will venture away from home to take on La Joya Community at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
