The Lee Generals pushed their score all the way to 68 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Olympia by a score of 70-68. While losing is never fun, Lee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 74th in Alabama, while Olympia is ranked 20th in Florida).
Olympia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kameren Wright led the charge by scoring 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vophcy Prophete, who scored 17 points.
Lee has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Olympia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Lee won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tampa Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Tampa Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. Olympia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Norland at 4:45 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Norland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
