Given Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 605th, while the Saints are ranked 1378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy was led to victory by Jayden Blake-Benard and Jaimon Joseph. Blake-Benard scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Joseph scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Joseph hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Boyd, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Faith Christian still got an impressive performance from Dylan Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 51.6% of Faith Christian's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jayden Avila was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The win was the third in a row for Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy, bringing their record for this year to 15-1. As for Faith Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy will be playing at home against the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Still Creek Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. As for Faith Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully True North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Saturday.
