On Friday, Washington couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 14-40 walloping at Marion hands. The loss was a vexing one since Washington was expected to win based on their state ranking. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Washington off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Marion a 1-0 record.
Next week, Washington take on Oskaloosa at 7:30 PM. As for Marion, they will face of against West Delaware. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up next week.
