The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-20 loss at the hands of Fountain Hills. While losing is never fun, Scottsdale Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Fountain Hills is ranked 66th).
Alicia Ibarra continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fountain Hills, scoring 23 points. Ibarra is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taleigha Bonaha, who scored 11 points.
Scottsdale Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Fountain Hills, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scottsdale Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rancho Solano Prep at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Scottsdale Christian Academy is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, meaning Rancho Solano Prep will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Fountain Hills, they will square off against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
