The Louisville Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Ralston by a score of 48-46. Louisville lost against Ralston in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-26 score last time.
Despite the loss, Louisville still got an impressive performance from Sam Luellen, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cash Biesterfeld, who scored eight points.
Deacon Courtney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ralston, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. The match was Courtney's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davinchi Gray, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Louisville now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Ralston, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Louisville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Nebraska City at 1:45 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Nebraska City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. Ralston won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McCook at 5:15 p.m. on December 29th. McCook is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
