The Crookston Pirates will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Park Rapids Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Crookston is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Crookston lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a tough 70-50 defeat at the hands of Warroad.
Meanwhile, even though East Grand Forks scored an imposing 73 points on Friday, Park Rapids still came out on top. Park Rapids snuck past the Green Wave with a 79-73 win.
Park Rapids' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carroll has scored all season. Noah Larson was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six assists and three steals.
Crookston dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Park Rapids, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Crookston, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 80-66 loss to the Panthers when the teams last played back in February of 2023.
