The Scott Beavers will head out on the road to face off against the Goodland Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Scott comes in on six and Goodland on five.
Even though Scott has not done well against Colby recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Scott took down Colby 45-29.
Eloy Ruelas was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Stoecklein, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Even though Goodland has not done well against Holcomb recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Goodland enjoyed a cozy 60-43 victory over Holcomb. Given Goodland's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Holcomb is ranked 33rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Scott's record is now 6-0. As for Goodland, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Scott came up short against Goodland in their previous matchup back in February, falling 41-37. Thankfully for Scott, Devontay Hardy (who scored 12 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
