The Eastern Alamance Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Orange Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastern Alamance is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Orange in North Carolina (Eastern Alamance is ranked 55th, while Orange is ranked 237th).
After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three matchups, Eastern Alamance finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell 14-7 to Southern Alamance. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Eastern Alamance couldn't answer the 7 points Southern Alamance scored afterwards.
Meanwhile, Orange fell victim to Southern Alamance's stalwart defense two weeks ago and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Patriots 49-0. Orange has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eastern Alamance's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Orange, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Everything went Eastern Alamance's way against Orange in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Eastern Alamance made off with a 49-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eastern Alamance since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
