It's playoff time, and Alhambra had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the San Leandro Pirates 7-6. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on five straight.
Willa Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Hailey Powers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nichaela West, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Alhambra's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for San Leandro, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-8.
As of now, neither Alhambra nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
